Newsletter #256 - Not A Cult

Hey Shitcoiners,

This week’s newsletter has plenty of spicy action, so let’s get right to it. If Bitcoin doesn’t work out for you, there are always ways to dig your way out of this hole. Buckle up your seat belt and get driving like Balaji!

The laser eyes have become less frequent on our timelines as of late, but there are still some plenty of believers out there.

Where there is good though, there is bad. Imagine thinking spurting out horrible music is going to keep people interested. RIP.

BIP300 has been touted as a logical next step for Bitcoin but it has been staunchly opposed for years. Lately, however, it has been gathering momentum and it looks like a breakthrough could be closer than ever.

Diving into that pull request highlights some spicy back and forth. Peter Todd is adamant that Drivechains are bad.

But it turns out Paul Sztorc has previously paid Peter to share those “fundamental flaws” and he has yet to see a thing.

Andreas here spitting some facts.

And Paul explained exactly why you should be supporting BIP300.

Adding privacy sidechains has been cited as one of the best use cases for Drivechains. We can only hope that privacy on Bitcoin will fare better than it has on Ethereum. It’s not looking good for the founders of Tornado Cash.

Friend.tech has taken over our timelines. The influencers can smell you from a mile away.

And now it’s not just about gambling on your favourite CT influencers, we have the Only Fans meta. Who knew you could earn from simping? Usually, the transactional flow means you lose money, not make it.

We can’t tell if the delete means that 0xgeeb is bullish or bearish.

If you see yourself suited to a life of simping, remember… don’t trust, verify.

You can hate on Friend.tech all you want but you cannot escape it.

It might be buggy, but you will still sign up with hopes of making a small fortune.

Maybe the fact there is no pretense of “changing the world for the better” is actually bullish?

We are excited to hear what the next .tech project will be. It might be the only way some of you make it out of this bear market alive.

To scams now! Zach alerted the community to some shenanigans that could be going down on Base. It took only 40 minutes for his prediction to come true.

This industry does not disappoint.

Zach remains anonymous, is he a fed?

Speaking of the feds, the DEA got scammed!

Buyers of Richard Heart coins might be feeling scammed themselves. The market caps of their tokens are not looking too snazzy.

On the topic of memecoins, there have been some interesting movements over on PEPE.

And their social activity isn’t painting a pretty picture…

If you thought your personal details were safer in the hands of “regulated” entities, think again. Our bodies are ready for the phishing emails!

SBF’s legal proceedings are gradually progressing, and he looks set to fight to the bitter end. He’s pleading not guilty.

You might imagine Sam’s mom is not having a good time, but this could be the greatest case study she’ll ever have.

This next crime has Sam written all over it.

Justin Sun is one of the few main characters of the previous years still around. It’s good to know Justin is just like us. He’s unbothered. Moisturized. Happy. In his lane. Focused. Flourishing.

We round this one off with some insight into where we are in the market cycle. We cannot believe it has come to this.

However things end up, remember it is about the friends we made along the way.

That's all for this week. Follow Andreas on Twitter and stay up to date with us @Shitcoindotcom too. See you next time.
