First up, BitMEX have been sued by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Yikes.
The worst part about this is that the Southern District of New York Attorney’s Office have indicted Hayes and his other co-founders for some pretty hefty alleged violations.
BitMEX have released a statement. Key takeaway, as you can imagine, they will fight this.
With events unfolding the crypto world began to hypothesise how this would play out. Co-founder and CTO of Casa, was left wondering how nation state resistant BitMEX’s funds really are.
Cobain shared the thoughts of many American’s who have weirdly found their email’s being used on BitMEX.
Waking up to the BitMEX news temporarily pulled attention away from the DeFi show. But alas, we have a spicy update for you. Big news of the last week surrounded “I test in prod” developer Andre Cronje.
Eminence, an unreleased project Andre was working on was uncovered by DeFi detectives. Unfortunately for Andre this led degens to invest hefty sums, only for the contract to be drained by a hacker.
In other DeFi news, the possible rugpulls keep on coming. This one is definitely NSFW (although what in this newsletter ever is?).
Has the editorial team at CoinTelegraph been doing crack? Or is an “odd” Kenyan stablecoin for golfing tournaments really highlighting the need for pan-African regulatory standards?
Who knew Amir was so into sports…
Now to Craig Wright. Remember how he took everyone to court for saying he wasn’t Satoshi? Well, that isn’t working out so well.
We round this one off with a couple of delightful memes. First, why is this guy’s wife calling the bank? Didn’t they tell you joint accounts were bad?
And second, here is an amazing glimpse into Harold’s soul in full HD.
